Sharon O’Konski attended undergraduate and graduate school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She received her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 1997. Her graduate school program was concentrated in the area of psychiatry. Prior to receiving her master’s degree, she worked as a staff RN on the adolescent unit at Harris County Psychiatric Center. Subsequent to obtaining her master’s degree, she obtained certification as a clinical nurse specialist in psychiatric nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and has maintained that board certification. She is licensed in the State of Texas to practice as a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner. Mrs. O’Konski entered private practice in 1998. She served as Adjunct Clinical Instructor from 2004 to 2007 for The University of Texas at Arlington, acting as preceptor for graduate students in the psychiatric program, as well as that of The University of Texas in Houston. Mrs. O’Konski’s focus is in comprehensive assessments and medication management for children, adolescents and adults, with a special interest in children and adolescents. She works with practitioners in other disciplines to ensure the most successful treatment outcomes. Her collaborating physician at Family Psychiatry of the Woodlands is Dr. Lucas. She is on most insurance panels.
